You could in XP by right clicking and selecting Properties.. and you could
type in the box whatever. i need to add a command after the target eg
'"C:/program files/vampire.exe"-console' can someone please tell me how to do
this? thanks

Are you typing the shortcut with forward slashes? Should be backwards
slashes. C:\ You should search for vampire.exe, right click, drag it to
desktop and select Create Shortcut and edit that one. The Programs folder has
other folders as sub folders, so you would need another entry to your path
"C:\program files\FOLDER\vampire.exe-console"
and change the quotes to include the whole line.
