How do you change the starting Page number for Handouts?

I am trying to Print Page Numbers for Handouts. The problem is that I need a
later starting Page Number for the Handouts. They will be going into a brief
and need to start at a higher number. ex, 9-24 instead of 1-15. I can change
the start number of the slides, but that changes the slide numbers, not the
Page numbers on the Handouts. Any suggestions?

This is hard wired into the code and can not be changed from PowerPoint.
Handouts always begin with page number 1.

However (isn't it great when there is a however?) ... there are several
methods around this, the best of which is...

Use HandOut Wizard and re-print only the relevant pages --

-or-
use 'Send to MS Word will create a handout that you can edit in Word and use
Word's page numbering.
