How do you change the scale increments shown of the ruler in Word

One a friend's computer, Word seems to scale the inches ruler differently
than on mine. Is there a way to modify the scale of the ruler as viewed?

Check the setting in Tools-Options-General tab--there are six choices for
"Measurement units."
