How do you boot to DOS in NON-HIMEM environment?

Amazingly, the bios flash for my Intel SE7505VB2 MB, will not work if a
memory manager is present (e.g. HIMEM) - of COURSE, they give you NO HINT as
to how to acheive this!!!!!!!!!!

I used XP to created a Dos disc on a floppy - but I guess it contains a
memory manager???????????

Nor should they - IMHO.

Although it is a good thing to flash your BIOS *if* it fixes some known
issue you know you are having - it is *not* something to take lightly. That
one diskette can render your machine into a large paperweight in no time.

In other words - if you are having trouble making the diskette to do the
BIOS/CMOS flashing for you - you may want to reconsider *if* you need this
to be done at all.

BIOS - although even I am guilty of flashing them for no good reason - is
not something to be flashed "willy-nilly". Things *can* (but seldom do) go
wrong *if* you do not know the proper precautions to take and do so. Some
experience in doing it is handy - but skills to prepare for it and the
things that could go wrong are essential.
