Hi have a huge number of emails I want to keep. A number of them have
attachments that I need to leave on the email for them to make sense. How do
I archive them so I can have them on a different drive (preferably CD) so
that I can free up some space on my computer.

Thanks

File, Export, Messages...
Export to your local hard drive first, then copy from there to external
media. WM can't export directly to external media.

Since when can you ARCHIVE in WM Gary? Maybe another word is used for this OL GUI

I suppose it depends on how technical you want to be about the
definition of "archive". Obviously WM won't do what Outlook does
in that regard, but you can easily save selected mail folders to
another location on the hard drive. That capability may satisfy
the needs of the OP.

See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx and the section on WinMail to see what needs
to be backed up. You can just copy the entire message store onto a CD, but
for a full backup of the settings you'll need to backup the registry as
well.

I had same problem. Go to www.ctdeveloping.com and purchase their PDF
Typewriter program. It's only $29 US. Then, with the piece of email open
select print, when the drop down box showing all your printers opens, select
PDF Typewriter. Another blue box will appear - select Create PDF - name
your file and file it in a folder you've set up in your Documents file.
Don't tell ctdeveloping, but his program is worth 4 times it cost. You can
do a lot of other things with the program too. Good Luck, Ellin
