How do you add a item to the program list.

When you click start the first thing above, is a small green arrow which
points to the right & is labeled 'all programs' How do you add an entry to
this first column? I want to add name like utilities & then drag programs
already on the list into it.

If you mean a thing like all programs then you can't.

If I understand you right, you want to add a folder and name it "Utilities",
and then put stuff there...Rt Click Start, Open, Open "Programs", create new
folder and rename, and then drag what you want to be in it.
