how do set display setting in both notebook monitor and external

how do set display setting in both notebook monitor and external LCD monitor?
i have bullt in display to external monitor but do check both display but
if everytime reboot cant show in external

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop to see if that particular model
supports the desired configuration. This is primarily a hardware issue,
regardless of OS.
