how do is set defaults view for search results?

When I do search for documents or folders, the view always
defaults to icons. I keep changing it to details view, but
it changes back. all the other folders remember my setting
and go to list view.
HOW do I get search to cooperate and get rid of those
annoying icons? Please help!
