How do I ?

I have made my "video", added the music and credits at the end. I selected the credit type that the names scroll to the right of the screen and I want to add a picture on the left side.....so you can see the picture as the names scroll. I have tried endlessly to split the picture I have chosen...that doesn't work.....and I have tried to split the credits....it also doesn't work. Can someone please tell me how this should be done. If you look in the credits menu it even describles what it is I wish to do...but then doesn't tell me how to do it. I am on a bit of a time scrunch with this and have already worked for 6 days getting this all together (10 min video!). This is the last thing I want to do with it. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Not sure which exactly which "credits" you are using. There are two things
you can do. When you add the credit it appears on the "VIDEO" line of the
timeline. Left mouse click on the credit and move it to the left. The word
"FADE" will appear on the "Transition" line of the timeline. If you don't
like that you can create the credit and it appears on the "VIDEO" line of
the timeline. Right click on that image, select "cut" then go down to the
"Title Overlay" of the timeline (down. last line) then right click and
select "paste". Move it around to see the effects.

Put the picture you want to appear with the credits at the end of your video
track.

Drag the credits from the video track down to the Title/Overlay track and
line it up with the picture.

If I understand you correctly you want to do a "split screen" effect with
left half of the screen as your chosen picture and the right half as the
scrolling credits ?

If you are prepared to let the picture shrink into the half screen area on
left then it can be achieved by a built in credit called: Video Left. To add
it first

1. select the last picture in the storyboard
2. select Add Title or Credit
3. select Title On the selected Clip
4. Change the title animation
5. Scroll down in the list and select from the Credits: Video Left

This way it adds the credits as a title overlay. If you already have the
title added, then goto Time line view and drag the credits clip into the
Title Overlay area and position it so that it overlaps the last pciture.
Increase the picture duration to match up witht he credits length.

I cannot believe how easy that was!!! I feel so stupid!! Thank you all for the advice, it did exactly what I wanted. There really should be more instruction on the program though for people like me who are really really dumb with computers. Thanks again.
