I downloaded different slide templates from the same website. it asked me to
save or open and i saved them in a file. i can open each slide seperately in
a powerpoint document, but cannot use all of the slides in the same
presentation, which is what i want. for example, i downloaded a slide with
flowers, a slide with a picture of a beach and a slide of a forest. i can
open the flower slide and type my presentation, but i cant figure out how to
get the beach and forest slide on the same presentation as the original
flower slide.

If you don't have PowerPoint 2002/2003 you cannot do what you want to do.

Create the individual slides in the downloaded templates and use File|Save
as to save each. Then, in the flower presentation file, select Insert|Slides
from File and navigate to the beach slide(s) and insert them. Then do the
same for the forest slides. Be sure to click "keep source formatting" in the
Insert|Slides from File dialog box.

Or you can leave all the slides open in PPT, put them all in slide sorter
view, select the slides in the beach file, copy them, and paste them into
the flower file. Select "keep source formatting" from the little paste
options button that should appear immediately after you paste the slides.
Repeat for the forest slides.
