In the previous version of Office, there was an Index under Help menu. How
do I access it in Office 2003?

No, there is no index for Help in Word 2003.

I've had Office 97, Office 2000 and now I have Office 2003 -- the latter with
NO HELP INDEX. Do you think I can apply to have my money back as I do not
want to use software with NO HELP INDEX.

Are you there Bill? Do you hear me?

1. If BillG reads the newsgroups, he's never mentioned it to me.

2. Did you look into the return policy of the place where you purchased your
software?

3. Even tho there's no index, Help does still work.

Do you think I have nothing better to do in life than try to get my money
back from the retail store? Come off it. The present help system is too
verbose, too windy and not precise enough. Instead of giving me the PR thing,
why don't you inform the higher ups that there are a lot of irate people out
there who want the HELP INDEX back and PRONTO. A good patch should do the
trick.

Your new Desktop search is wonderful. I love it but I still use the old
SEARCH which I find indispansable for certain searches. You have thrown out
the baby with the bathwater.

We want the old HELP INCEX back and PRONTO please. Let's have a batch to put
this problem right.

No one here works for Microsoft so your rants at fellow users are wasted.
Word 2003 has now been out for four years and has been effectively replaced
by 2007 which you won't like either. The help system has been changed. It is
not going to be changed back just to please you.

You're the one who mentioned returning the software, not me.

It's not *my" Help system. I am not a Microsoft employee. I have no issues
with not having an index. Yes, I use an index on older software but I've
learned how to search for something in more than one way. I've be more than
willing to teach you how if there was a way to do that. Unfortunately, that
skill is not something easily taught or easily learned.
