How Do I Use Fonts I Installed?

I installed new fonts to my Windows XP Pro Fonts folder. Only some of them
show up in the drop-down list of my Office programs. It's usually when I'm
working in Publisher that I need them. How can I access them and put them to
use? Or did I just get greedy and installed too many?

Did you install them, or did you just copy the font files to the folder?

If you just copied them, they are not properly installed: use "Control
Panel, Fonts" to install them.

If you truly installed them, it may be that the names of the fonts are
not what you expect. I think that you can use "Control Panel, Fonts" to
find the Windows font name associated with a font file.

I installed them properly...through Control Panel. In fact, I d/l the
instructions & followed them precisely. After reading some of the other
related posts on here, though, I think I may have installed too many. I'm
going to try deleting some. I've printed out the article that tells me which
ones I need to keep. But, oh, there's just so many of them that are so great.
Then again, I doubt people buying auto parts really want to see a sales ad
with Old English script. Thanks for your quick response.
