How do I use a pattern as fill in a bar chart in PowerPoint?

In the old PowerPoint when you added a color to a bar chart element, you
could choose "Fill Options" and I can't find this feature in PowerPoint 2007.
Can someone help me? The gradient fills don't print well, nor do the
textures and if you're printing in black and white, colors don't help.

You can set up a custom texture. If you have access to an early version just
save a 100 pixel (approx) square shape filled with the pattern you like as an
emf (right click > save as pic) and use more textures> texture > from file in
2007. Be happy to email you a few emf's if you dont have an early version

In Excel, the pattern fills are still there, but can only be accessed via
programming. Andy Pope created this add-in for Excel:

Create your chart there and then copy it to PowerPoint.
