How do I use 1Gb SD media card with Vista?

I have never used any of the media cards and what I'm looking for is your
referral to a blog you think I should read to get an overview of this type
of storage.

I've got a brand new 1Gb Kingston SD card plugged into Vista Premium at the
moment and now what? It makes no beep and does not show up in My Computer.
I've got to learn how to transfer images to an SD (and other types of media
cards).

Are there any really nice free tools somebody has developed for this?

Usually there's an LED on the card reader that lights up when the SD card is
plugged in to indicate that it is connected. Does your reader have an LED
and if so does it light? If the LED does not light it suggests that the SD
card is inserted incorrectly, is bad, or the reader itself is not connected
to the motherboard. If the LED lights then open My Computer - do you have
entries for removable media? If so then it's likely one of those drive
letters is assigned to the SD card. The card my need to be formatted.

Once you get it working, what do you want to do with it? <g>
