how do i uninstall windows?

i installed a new version of windows xp, but then decided
i didn't need a 2nd install. how do i uninstall the new
winxp w/o formatting my hd, and/or just deleting it? i'm
guessing if i just delete the windows directory it will
still stay in my boot menu. thx, 'preciate it

As you say just delete the dir which has your new XP then delete the entry
in the boot.ini file.

You can do this two ways by opening the system and hidden boot.ini file in
the root of C: with notepad or

<control panel>system>Advanced>startup and recovery>settings>system
startup>edit

Hi, Buster.

Yes, if you "just delete" your second \Windows folder, the second WinXP will
stay in your boot menu until you edit it out of C:\boot.ini. You can do
this edit in whichever way you'd rather: Notepad (you'll need to remove the
system, hidden and read-only attributes from boot.ini first); or the Edit
button at System Properties | Advanced | Startup and Recovery; or the Check
All Boot Path button on the BOOT.INI tab of msconfig.exe.
