I am trying to animate rows in a table. I believe that I have to ungroup the
table to be able to animate the rows but I am unsure how to do this? Does
this mean I should build a separate table for each row that I want to animate?

Thanks for the advice,

You can't "ungroup a table and animate the individual rows cells or columns.
One work around might be to simulate the table format. For example, if you're
working with pictures:
Insert a table with the correct amount of rows/columns that you want
Insert the pictures on TOP not IN the table cells
Now you have the "table-like" setup that you want.
Now use custom animation to construct your animations the way you want them
to appear.
Hope this helps!!!

Copy your slide. Select the table and hit Ctrl+X to cut it. Edit|Paste
Special, choose EMF. Ungroup the EMF using Draw|Ungroup. Ungroup twice. Now
you can move stuff around, regroup parts, and animate them.
