Ungrouping a table

I can't seem to ungroup a table for animation purposes. In 2003 you could
highlight the table, then left click and hit the ungroup button. However,
the "group/ungroup" buttons are grayed out now. I tried highlighting the
table and clicking the arrange button. However, the "group/ungroup" options
are grayed out there as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

So you are on PowerPoint 2007 now?
If so, see if this works for you:
Select the table, Ctrl-C to copy.
Click Home tab, select the down arrow on Paste.
Select Paste Special.
Select Picture (Enhanced Metafile). Click ok.
Ungroup Twice.
