A finisher is an attachment to a photocopier which allows it to collate
multiple copies. I suspect you are using a photocopier as a printer (many can
do both), but do not have the required part. Probably the stapler is also
part of the finisher. You will have to go to the supplier and ask about
purchasing/renting the finisher and stapler.
I can not staple but other indioviduals in the office can, therefore I am
assuming that there is something that I need to install on my computer that
others already have. Does this make sense?

In Windows (not Word) bring up the Printers and Faxes dialog, click on
the printer in question, right-click and select Properties, look at
the Device Settings tab. There will probably be something on that tab
saying that the finisher is not installed. Change it to say that it is
installed and OK back out.
