How do I turn off Word 2007 as Outlook 2007 email editor?

I need to turn off Word 2007 as my default email editor to send certain types
of emails, but then I need to reactivate it as the editor when finished
sending. How do I do this in Outlook 2007?

HUH ?? Why not just close Word when it comes up and open whatever you want to send with. Going into this trouble of removing Word as Editor and then putting it back is not worth the trouble.

If you really want to do this then go to IE\Properties\Programs and change the Editor there . You can select and set\remove there

Word isn't "coming up." I'm trying to send HTML coded emails. Because Word
is the default email editor (unless you turn it off), it automatically starts
as the editor for new Outlook messages, and it distorts the HTML functions.
In order for the HTML emails to go out with all of the features created by
the associated code, Word has to be turned off as the default editor.

Thanks, though.

You can no longer disable Word Mail in Outlook 2007. You would have to
uninstall Word; however, that would cause you to have to work with a limited
feature set.

What problems are you having with HTML? If it's doing something problematic
with autocorrect, you can disable that by clicking the Windows button ->
editor options -> Proofing -> AutoCorrect options...

Ah! Well, that would be why I haven't been able to find the feature to turn
it off!

The appearance of the HTML email (created in a separate design program) when
imported into Outlook has all kinds of odd breaks in the design and the
photos in the design are all stretched and skewed. (My HTML program says
that in order for that not to happen, Word has to be temporarily disabled as
the email editor.) Any suggestions?

Thanks!

It's possible that auto correct is doing some weird things for you. Try
going through the option I listed in my previous post and disabling
everything.

Also, in the new message window, under the Options tab, at first I'd say
make sure that HTML is selected, but see what happens if you go to plain text.

Lastly, when you paste, click the little clicpboard icon that pops up and
try doing either match source formatting, or keep text only, though the
latter would get rid of embeded pictures, you could try going to insert
picture later, and putting it in the appropriate spot.

Hope something here helps! If not, you may want to try another HTML editor
:)

Which method of "importing" do you use?
Which HTML elements are you using to design your mail?

I am using a program called High Impact eMail 4.0 to design and import the
HTML file into Outlook (when you finish the design in High Impact, you click
a "send email" button, and it automatically accesses Outlook and opens up a
new mail message with the design embedded).

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I don't know which type of inserting the application uses. The proper way to
inject HTML code into a message is;
Insert-> File-> browse to htm-file-> little down arrow on Insert button->
Insert as Text

another). I cannot open that attachment.
when I try to save it. it is saved as a *.msg
but again I can not open it, as this extention is associated with outlook....
