How do I turn off Windows Search under Windows Explorer

Hello,
I'm running Office 2007 on Windows XP.
In their infinite wisdon MS decided if I wanted to do any searches in my
Outlook 2007 I had to install their WindowsSearch-KB940157 software. I
think it is less useful than the old searching available under Office XP but
I hate with a passion the way it works with Windows Explorer.

Now if I want to search in my e-mails I need to have this installed but is
their any way for me to get the Explorer search to go back to the way it was
by default?
I know it is only one mouse click to bring the old search up from their new
search window (so at least they didn't delete the software) but this is a
pain in the proverbial to do everytime I search.

Thanks

From articles I found by Googling, it looks like you can uninstall Search
4.0 and then
<<On Outlook's menu simply navigate to Tools, Options, Other tab, Advanced
Options under General and uncheck "Show prompts to download Windows Desktop
Search". That's it!>>

Worth a try. I don't use OL2007, but I got rid of Search 4.0 shortly after
installing it on both my XP and Vista machines. I use Agent Ransack, but I'm
not sure how or if it interacts with OL2007.
