How do I turn off grammar markup in a file sent to others?

I'm distributing some files, and would rather not have the green grammar
check lines show up on the document. I know how to keep these from
displaying on my local system, but what I want to do is keep others from
seeing them on my document. Is this possible?

Thank you.

On the Spelling and Grammar tab of Tools | Options, check the box for "Hide
grammatical errors in this document." You may want to hide spelling errors
as well.

First do this:

You can show or hide the wavy underlines that appear when you automatically
check spelling and grammar, or when you automatically check formatting
consistency.

Spelling and grammar

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling & Grammar tab.
Make sure the Check spelling as you type and/or Check grammar as you type
check boxes are selected.
Select or clear the Hide spelling errors in this document or Hide
grammatical errors in this document check box.
Formatting consistency

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Edit tab.
Select or clear the Mark formatting inconsistencies check box.

Then do this:

Skip text during a spelling and grammar check

Select the text that you don't want to check.
On the Tools menu, point to Language, and then click Set Language.
Select the Do not check spelling or grammar check box.

Your feedback is appreciated.

Your suggestion is not working for me.

First I type the doc with the grammar/spell checker turned on so that I can
see my mistakes. Then I save this doc.

Then I open the doc again. It will show the wiggle lines. I then check the
"Hide" boxes and the wiggles disappear. I save this version of the doc.

However, when I send this doc by e-mail, the recipient will see the wiggle
lines again.

When I open my saved doc in my computer again and go to the options for the
spell/grammar checker, I notice that both checkmarks have disappeared from
the "Hide" boxes.

What am I doing wrong?

I suspect that just checking the Hide boxes is not "dirtying" the document,
so it is not actually being saved. After changing the Options setting, type
a space at the beginning of the document, use Backspace (not Undo) to delete
it, then save.
