How do I transfer a document to a CD?

I know my computer has the capabilities to burn Cd's, but I have never
actually attempted to do so. I am trying to help a friend with her resume and
need to put it on a CD for her to take home. I have multiple programs for
burning and ripping music, but how can I transfer a word document to a CD?

Both of the computers that I've had that have come with CD/DVD burners have
included some software for writing various kinds of content (data, music,
video, etc.) to those media. When I insert a blank CD in my drive, the
software loads automatically and offers the option to create a data CD. You
should be able to use whatever software came with your drive in this way.

Also, if you have Windows XP, look in the Help for "Copy files and folders
to a CD," which will explain how to do this with Windows XP's built-in
software.
