Transfer Files on CD into Documents

Sorry if this is a silly question.

How do I transfer files that are saved on CD's into Documents in Word 07?

And can this be done in a way that all the Folders on the CD are maintained
in Documents after the transfer.

I'm sorry - I don't enderstand what that means or how to do it. Copying
directly on to the hard disk? - would this save them in the Documents Section
of Word?

When I load the CD in to its driver there is nothing anywhere in the dialog
box that opens to link it to Word. And in Word there is nothing to link
anything to the CD Rom.

I used previous versions of Word and could work most things out - this
version is 'all over the place' - it is soooooo confusing.

Copy the files on the disk, paste it in your hard drive.

You don't save files "in" or "inside" Word. You save them to your hard
drive, and if you have XP you probably keep them in the folder called
"My Documents," and if you have VIsta, you probably keep them in the
folder called "Documents." Those folders can have immense numbers of
folders inside them.

You can drag your folders or files directly from the CD to the hard
drive; go to Start > (My) Computer, click on the drive name for the CD
(it might be drive D to open it in the big window on the right. In
the little window on the left, scroll up so you can see the
"Documents" folder (apparently you have Vista, since you referred to
"Documents"), select all the folders on the CD that you want to copy,
and drag them to the "Documents" icon. In a moment you'll see a big
icon (with the number of items you're dragging) with the note "Move to
Documents." When that appears, let up on the mouse button, and sit
back and watch the files copy.

You could, but you NEVER SHOULD, open a file on the CD in Word. You
would browse to the D: (or whatever) drive inside the Open dialog.

click and choose 'properties'. Uncheck the read only attribute and click OK.
