I regularly use a desktop with outlook 2003 and I have an IPAQ which I
synchronize via microsofts activesync 3.8 for normal use. However I sometimes
use a laptop when I'm away for extended periods and I am not sure how to
synchronise this machine with my outlook on the desktop i.e. email, contacts
and calendar

I think there is a more current version of ActiveSync 4.1. I think you can
set up an account as second computer "guest" to synchronize with the laptop.
Would that work? Or am I not seeing the question correctly. I sync my PDA
at home with the one at the office too. I am not an MVP, so don't know if I
am not understanding, but thought I would throw my thoughts in. At least you
can update the ActiveSync software.
