Outlook 2002 Calendar will only sync with iPAQ if I make it defaul

MS ActiveSync 4.5 does not sync properly because I have not set MS Outlook
2002 SP3 as my default Mail, but I use its Calendar to sync with my iPAQ 3870
(Pocket PC 2001).

Outlook Express is my default mail app., contact sync is disabled and I'd
like to keep it that way. I can only synchronize once after a restart,
afterwards nothing else is synchronized, not even files.

I'm willing to work with another Calendar app. - I like Yahoo Calendar but I
guess you cannot sync it with PDAs, only pocket pc phones in the US?

If there's no way to make activesync synchronize with MS Outlook Calendar
without asking me to make it my default mail app., please suggest another
desktop Calendar app. that will sync with a Pocket PC device - preferably
free of charge )

Just found out that MS outlook 2003 works better with synchronization - was
about to uninstall MS outlook 2002 when hubby told me we had the CD to
upgrade to 2003.

Hope this is a definite solution, so far no problems.
