How do I stop video splitting?

Is there any way to stop WMM2.1 from splitting a single video clip into at
least 250 individual clips? Why does the program do this? Are there any
other carpal tunnel sufferers who are also weary and in pain from having to
point and click to add the same effect(s) or transition(s) hundreds of times
to these unwanted/unnecessary clips, as I have?

From the task bar "Movie Tasks" on left select Import video. In the Import
File dialog box that comes there is a check box near the bottom edge:
"Import options: [ ] Create clips for video file".

Uncheck it to get the video in one big lump.

Try unmarking the "Create Clips" checkbox when importing your movie....
