How do I stop unwanted flags on messages in Inbox?

I have Outlook 2003 and without setting any message flags, all my messages
get a red Follow-up flag attached and the message header blinks rapidly in
the preview pane. I have tried setting a rule to remove follow-up message
flags, but that isn't working, though it did periodically for a while when I
would run the rule manually. Any ideas how to stop this?

That is not a native feature of Outlook. Do you have any add-ins installed
or does the message header also blinks for non-flagged items?
When you send yourself an unflagged e-mail does it still received flag?

i have the same problem - it happens at least twice a day.
i'm using Outlook 2003 with Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin, should i remove
this addin?
