How do I STOP reminders for every email

I am still getting a reminder for every email I receive. Obviously this is
quite annoying. Any ideas how to stop the reminders without turning all
reminders off?
 
What kind of reminders are you talking about?
What version of Outlook are you using?
What mail account type are you using?
 
Like a reminder you get when you have an appointment. A typical reminder notice
Outlook 2003

For each email? Do they appear flagged in your Outlook Inbox view?
Could you have a rule configured that does this?

For each and every email. Even if I dismiss all of the reminders they come
back each time I restart Outlook. I have disabled all of the rules, try a
fresh install (using the same .pst file), and tried a few of the other tricks
people have suggested for other issues such as the Detect and Repair feature
to no avail. I have tried
both of these switches (/cleanreminders and /resetfolders) to no avail.

I am using Vista Business, Office 2003 with all updates.

...and now something different . The remidners for the email messages have
stopped but some of the contacts get reminders now too. This was after a
fresh reinstall of Outlook 2003.
