How do I stop Normal tnmplate being changed?

why is it that whenever I exit Word, I always get the message "Changes have
been made that affect the global template, Normal. Do you want to save those
changes?".
My answer is always "no", because I am happy with the template; I don't want
it changed every time I do something, the slightest thing, in Word... Of
course there may be times when I do want to change the template but this will
be the exception and, like most people, I guess, I'd like to specify when
this is to occur...
By the way, I have the following option set on "Prompt to save Normal
template" because my understanding is that if thsi option isn't activated, my
normal template will automatically assume any changes I make in other
documents... as I say, I want to keep my Normal template clean and just the
way it is!
Does anyone know how to stop this annoying message, please.
Many thanks.

Thank you Jay - I did what was suggested in that link but since I have
Wordfast and Dragon Naturally Speaking running, I think my computer setup is
a lost cause... all those complicated aspcts of Word seem unnecessarily
complex for writing a document, I must say!
Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.
Regards
