How do I stop IE windows from auto-activating

I usually surf the web in multiple windows and it's highly
annoying when a background window auto-activates. Is
there anyway to prevent this?

Third party software is available to stop pop ups or you can try Mozilla at
mozilla.org which has built in pop up blocker

This is not exactly what I mean. I have a pop-up
stopper. What I mean is when you have 2 or more windows
open and one in the background forces itself to the front.

It sounds like the windows in the background may come to the foreground if
the site is generating a page refresh or is encoded to keep it in the
foreground. I haven't any solution for it.

One issue.

From: "michel guimond" submitted in a news group.
Subject: When I launch an instance of IE6, it seems to launch the next
instance of the window, but then it closes it and launches the new one over
the existing one. Thus, I can't have multiple instances of I.E. running.
Very frustrating.

Solution: Yahoo Companion.
I uninstalled it and I'm now able to open new windows (Ctrl-N or
File/new/window)
