How do I stop hibernating?

My computer seems to be set to hibernate, and I cannot get it to stop doing
so. I know this seems very basic, but I have tried using the power control
settings in the control panel with no luck. What else should I do?

Hello.
First basic steps are:
Right click of your mouse > point to properties than pres on it.
You will see popup window in windows XP by name “Display propertiesâ€.
Than find in there “Screen Saver†> and pres on it, after you need to find a
“Powerâ€
button > pres on it and another popup will be up. There will be many
configuration options for your computer > check all of them to be sure that
all properties are correct for your computer. In “Power Schemes†put
–Home/Office Desk- if your computer turns off every day. Then find
“Hibernate†button and pres on it > after all just disable hibernation by un
checking properties of hibernation. If after all your computer will be
hibernate you need to go to gpedit.msc and mark there of your properties to
this computer. To run this gpedit.msc just go to start menu > Run and paste
there “gpedit.msc†> ok. It is possibly that your gpedit.msc can be cut in
the half, I mean that some OEM or by replacement of files can be cause of not
full gpedit.msc. Sorry I don’t know yet how to update that gpedit.msc without
reinstalling of windows.
