I have Windows XP Home / SP2. I have the automaitc Windows Update enabled. I
leave my PC running 24/7, turning it off only at specific times as I deem
necessary. I leave many windows up and running, sometimes as a reminder to me
of things I need to finish. In certain cases when Windows finishes running an
automatic updates it performs an automatic reboot. Short of turning off the
automatic update feature does anyone know of anyway to prevent this reboot
from taking place until I give the okay? As I recall, except for crashes,
Windows never used to turn off or reboot a PC without receiving the user's
permission. This is very annoying!

Thanks for any help.

I have never had automatic updates turned on. My computer is always
up to date. Updated by me. Another option would be to check the
radio button.....
O Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them.
