How do I stop a message about document registration on Word?

Every time I open any document in Word 2003 a message comes up that says:
"This document could not be registered. It will not be possible to create
links from other documents to this document".

It drives me nuts as it appears on every Word document I open.

I am about to completely reinstall Office it's annoying me that much.

Please help.
