I would like to find out how to start up Microsoft Word without a blank
document.
Word help suggests I add "/n" to the end of the path in the Windows
Start>Run program, i.e. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office10\WINWORD.EXE/n"
I have also tried "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\WINWORD.EXE\n,
" ... n", "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\n\WINWORD.EXE"

none of these seem to work. An error message Windows cannot find
'C:\Program' appears.

Any suggestions?

You need a space before /n and make sure only the path for the
executable is in quotes.

It should look like:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\WINWORD.EXE" /n

You have to quote the path if it includes spaces (you've done that), and the
/n switch has to be *outside* the quotes (with a space before it). So try:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\WINWORD.EXE" /n
