how do I sort only some of the folders & shortcuts on my desktop?

I have a group of folders I need to alpha sort. If I sort by alpha using the
desktop "arrange icons" function it sorts EVERYTHING shortcuts, other folders
I don't want alpha etc.

Anyone know how to do this or a utility from someone that does? (Utility is
my DOS showing?)

Right click on the desktop / arrange icons by / check "align to grid"
and start manually dragging them where you want them. Doing it
manually should be right at home for an old DOS guy. :)

Thanks I will give it a try.

I guess it would be too mac-like to just lasso the ones I want and click on
alpha sort.

OK I know I know CTL click to tag them, right click & scroll to select
alpha, left click to make it work...

Gee I miss dir/w.
