How do I simplify Internet connection in to one process?

Hi all,

I have just purchased a new HP Notebook with Vista Home Premium installed,
but I am having problems finding out how to connect online in 1 easy process!

Basically, because I have had to install a new Vista compatible Speedtouch
330 modem driver without my ISP Tiscali software, I have found that in order
to get online, it is a 2 step process! Firstly, I have to double click a
"Connect to your ISP" icon on my desktop, & then click "Outlook Express" to
open my browser?

I have tried this in reverse order by clicking Outloook Express first, but I
still have to use the connect to ISP icon to get online?

Does anybody know how I can somehow combine the 2 to make things easier, or
create a new icon capable of being double clicked to get online?

If anyone has any advice, then I would be most grateful, & thanks for your
time.

Many thanks.

does that modem support an Ethernet (LAN card) connection?

if so, then use that and not the USB connection you are using now...

If it does, call your isp and they will tell you how to set up the modem so
its "always connected"
and then you will just access the internet via the modem

there is an automated service application that connects you to DSL

its called ADSL autoconnect... but Im not sure what kind of connection you
have...

If you only want to launch 2 scortcuts with one stroke, then there are small
apps that do that...

For example MultiLaunch 3.0 that is described here (middle of page)
http://channels.lockergnome.com/windows/backissues/20001221.phtml

its no longer online but I can dig it up for you

Hi Tiberius,

Thanks for the reply!

I slipped up slightly in my original post, & I should have said "Internet
Explorer" as opposed to "Outlook Express"!

There are a couple of things that I think I need to amend, such as
Admin/user settings relating to connecting up, but I shall have a look
suggestion too.

Thanks again.
