Using Exchange Server 2003 for our 60 users - each having their own mailbox.

Now, I want to be able to have one Contact Folder (for selected contacts)
that they all can use.

I know Public Folders is one answer. Is there an easier way to setup one
Contact Folder with selected contacts, from the users, that all users can
see and use?

thx

How much easier do you want it?
Or; what is so hard about using Public Folders?
It sounds like the way to go for you.

I'm not that familiar with Public folders.

Reading about it - looks like I have to set one Public Folder up for each
user and not just one for all.
Question - when I setup a Public folder on my computer and set user
permissions, does it show the folder for all users I set permissions for? or
do I have to send the link to all users, that I want to see the folder? Does
each user have to add the folder to OAB?

Then there is blocking of the contact attachment link within Outlook 2003.
Do I change the registry for Excnange Server, Gateway Server or each user?

thx ahead

You set up just one and you assign permissions to it via an Active Directory
Universal Security Group which contains all the users you want to have
access to that folder.
does it show the folder for all users I set permissions for?
Yes, they can browse to it via the Public Folders node in Outlook.
or do I have to send the link to all users, that I want to see the folder?
Not needed, but you might want to inform them about this folder one way or
the other so they will know that it's there and what to use it for.
Does each user have to add the folder to OAB?
No, only when they want to have it show up as a list in their Address Book.
Have them add the Contacts folder to their Public Folder Favorites first

What kind of link are you talking about and in which way is it blocked to
you?
Could you post exact steps to reproduce?

Thanks for the help.

The block is on the .NXK contact Public folder link that is sent to the
user.

I get the error message "Outlook 2003 blocking unsafe attachmens"

The steps are:

go to the pubic folder and right click it to send link to....

Just to say thank you.

Everything is up and running.

The only problem I had was using a Security Group, so I just added all users
to Permissions.

You're welcome! :)

Be careful with assigning permissions to individuals on objects. When the
person leaves the company and you delete the account it will still leave a
trace on all the objects and you'd have to clear that manually for each
object. That's why using groups is recommended procedure.
