How do I set-up and exchange account on outlook 2007?

Hello,

I have a new laptop running Vista Ultimate 64bit with Office Standard 2007.
When I try to set-up my Exchange account I get an error that states "I can
not set-up an exchange account with outlook running, go to my control panel
and set it up by clicking on the mail icon"

I go to my control panel, switch to classic view and I don't have a "mail"
icon. It lists them alphabetacally and it goes from Keyboard to Mouse. No
Mail icon at all.

Now what?
