How do I set the text to remember words I have already typed

I am wondering what settings I need to use to get Word to remember words I've
already used so I can just hit enter and move on instead of having to type it
out repeatedly.

There is nothing in Word comparable to AutoComplete in Excel, which I
suspect is what you have in mind. You can create AutoCorrect entries for
specific words (see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customization/AutoCorrect.htm). Note, however,
that this really feasible only for long and difficult-to-type words and
phrases.
