I have an add-in I want to add and the instructions say to set the Security
Level to Low when I install it; then set it back to High.

How do I do that?

Thanks,
Doug

In 2003 (it's different in different versions):

Tools menu
Options
Security tab
Macro Security button
Check Low
OK

Sorry, I didn't mention that I'm using PP97.
I don't see a "Security" tab.

Will that help?
TIA

As I recall for PP97, you want the General Tab. There should be a check box
for enabling Macro Virus Protection. When you enable it, it is like setting
security to medium on newer versions. When you disable it, it is like setting
security to low. That's the best I can do for you because I no longer have
PP97.

Try Tools, Options, the General tab and remove the checkmark next to "Macro
Virus Protection"

Having that on or off shouldn't make a big difference; it just causes PPT to
warn you if a presentation contains macros. Having it on shouldn't prevent you
from installing the add-in. Have you run into problems with it?

Thanks to you both. When I began installing the add-in it "warned" me to
reset the security level so I didn't go any farther.
It's called PPT-Merge and is intended to "mass-load" the .jpgs I would like
in the PP presentation.

If you know of a better way, I will appreciate your comments.

It's funny .... I *wrote* it but never thought of doing that with PPTMerge, but
if you have a list of image filenames in an Excel sheet or other data file,
it'd do the job pretty nicely. Cool ... I'll have to add that to the feature
list. <g>

Go ahead and give it a try; if you run into problems, feel free to shoot me an
email at steve at-sign pptools dot com

Thanks Steve,
I'm just now trying to figure out PPT-Merge.
I didn't know I need a list of the image filenames. I just have the .jpg
images in a folder.
Do I need to list them also? As in an Excel file?? If so, how would it
point to the folder where the imges actually are??

For Merge, the images would need to be listed with full paths to the folder
where they reside.

Depending on what you want to do, though, I wonder if something like Shyam's
image importer wizard isn't more what you're after.

I'd give that a try too.

Please ignore my earlier question Steve,
I did a Google search and found it.
I'm downloading a trial version now..

Great ... let us know how it works out

Worked like a champ!
Just what I was looking for. Thanks for the suggestion.
