How do I set an "away" message in Outlook 2000?

How do I set an "away message in Outlook if I have Office 2000?

There is no simple drop down box.

I am using a POP3 server [yahoo]

Yahoo has an On Vacation message service. Log into your yahoo mail in
your web browser and set it there.

Unless Outlook is connected to an Exchange server, there is no Out of Office
Assistant. You can do what Gordon suggests (a good idea), or you can create
a rule as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=248830
