How do I set a time duration for animated clipart?

I have inserted an animated clipart in a PowerPoint slide. I want it to run
for 10 seconds but can't find where to do that. How do I set it to run for
only 10 seconds on the slide?

Right Click on the animation you want to set with from the list, select
the option "Show advanced timeline",

see screenshot: http://www.sameshow.com/images/advanced-timeline.jpeg
and http://www.sameshow.com/images/timeline-edit.jpeg

the timeline shows the timing of the animation, the squares filled in
orange show the duration of each animation. You just drag the left edge
of the square to change the start point, and right edge to set the end,
or you can drag the whole shape to add a delay to the animation or
bring it ahead.

hope it helps!

I'm guessing its an animated gif

You cant control the duration of these in ppt. You can make it disappear
after 10 secs with an exit animation. If you want the still image to remain
on screen try making a still copy by copy > paste special as a png file and
make this appear as the animated image disappears.

Did that answer the question / help?
