How do I set a different page as my home page?

I am attempting to change the homepage of a sharepoint site. When I select to
Set new page I have made and saved as an aspx file it tries to change the
name of the current homepage but is unable to do so because of a 'Server
error: You cannot move or copy a thicket file.' Am I right to save the
current homepage under a new name and then delete the file called
default.aspx and then go through the process of setting the new file as my
homepage?

You may want to check a WSS newsgroup
