How do I send sound in emails?

I tried to send an animated witch and a "witches cackle" in an email to a
friend. I did a test email to myself first and the animation worked but there
was no sound. Can this be rectified?

Hi. I followed the instuctions in the link you gave (thank you!) and
can get as far as clicking on the Sound icon but instead of a
Background Sound box a pop-up appears which says "This object was
created in HTMLInlineSoundctrl. This application is not available to
open this object. Make sure application is properly installed.....".

Windows XP SP2 eliminated the ability to embed sound in Outlook mail. Did
you also look at
http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/addingsoundworkaround.htm , which was
also linked on the original page?

Hi. No I didn't look at the work around bit. I was not aware of the problem
you mention. My pc runs on Windows Vista Home Premium - does that have the
same problem as Windows XP SP2 does then? Sorry - I'm new to all this
malarkey!

Embedded sound in an Outlook message is not possible at all on on Vista, as
far as I know.

It is possible on Windows Vista. You're confused with Outlook 2007 ;-)

I'm getting really confused now!! I've got Windows Vista Home Premium and
Outlook 2003. My pc is an Inspiron 531 from Dell. I am a Leo and I'm 5'8"
tall. Does any of that help? :-)

The process in the workaround section should work for you then.

I guess so. I'd never even try to embed music in mail anyway.
