how do I select G-nail as my default e-mail

I would like for g-mail to open when i click on a e-mail link as it did in
XP. As of now it opens outlook and nothing I do seems to change that....
help!!!

You can use that

but have in mind that you can also use POP with gmail (see the settings in
gmail, and the help on how to configure windows mail, follow the
instructions for outlook express (same thing)). This means you will be able
to recieve and send emails using your GMAIL account from within windows mail
for free!
