How do I search the Windows recycle bin?

Hi,

On my Windows desktop, there is a symbol for the recycle bin, which
opens into Explorer when I double-click it. However, I can't search or
filter the contents of the recycle bin using Windows. It seems like
the recycle bin cannot be selected like any other folder and be
searched using the Windows search.

So, my question is: Is there any tool (or method) that allows me to
easily search for files within the recycle bin only (or filter for
certain file types)?

Peter

Of course you can't because it is a systems folder hidden from
"inexperieced people". Try this link:

C:\RECYCLER

You will need to unhide systems folders to see the folder.

I know about these folders and know how to make them visible but I am
actually looking for a simpler way to search the Windows recycle bin.

I have many partitions on my computer and each partition has its own
RECYCLER folder. Each RECYCLER folder has several subfolders with
names like S-1-5-21-... (many more numbers).

Isn't there something like a Windows recycle bin explorer that allows
me to easily explore all recycle bins at once?

Peter

No. The only thing you could do is to use just one recycle bin and this
would make it easy to explore it in one go.

If you right click on the icon and click on properties. This would give
the option to use only one "bin" for all the partitions.

Why would you want to keep files that you are still interested in in the
recycle bin? Set up a "send to ..." right-click item in your contextual
menus to place such files in a folder of your choice.

That said, I was able to use Windows Search to find files in the recycle
bin by selecting "C:\Recycler" in the "Look in" browse search box.
