How do I scan, save, create and use a letterhead template?

I can scan my letterhead to a .pdf file which apparently is no help. But
when I try to scan and save it as a Word Document, it doesn't look much like
letterhead. I don't know how, where or what extension to use or how to
create letterhead that we can type on and then e-mail.

Although it would be more advisable to recreate the letterhead in Word, you
may be able to use a scan, though I would suggest scanning as a TIFF or JPEG
instead of PDF. Crop the scan to just the letterhead portion and use Insert
| Picture | From File to insert it in the header of your template. See

From the scanner, save the image as a graphics file, usually either .jpg or
..gif. Then see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/Letterhead.htm.
