How do I run TAP.exe on a 586 Processor Board!

Hi,

I have built an XPe image incorporating EWF that runs well on a board with
1GHz VIA processor. However, I need to run a similar image on a board with a
586 processor. I don't think this board can run/support XP Pro on it so I
have a problem of running TAP.exe on it to get the necessary drivers lists
into the configuration file on it for the purpose of building an XPe image
for the board. Can someone please help me with a solution? Thanks

If your target hardware isn't compatible with XP Pro, your won't be able to run XPE on it either.
So, first, you should try running XP Pro on the board. Why doesn't it support XP Pro?

The Via processors C3 and C7 are equivalent to Pentium III processors. The
minimum processor is a Pentium II for XPe. Pentium / 586 are not supported
in XPe.

I had a similar problem, what I did was a pre-installed image of XP on
a CD using a freeware called bart's PE builder (http://www.nu2.nu/
pebuilder/). With that, you have an XP booting from CD and can go from
there. You need an XP installation disk to use the PE builder, though.
