How do I retrieve a document that I saved over by accident?

I inadvertantly pushed the save button as opposed to the save as button and
replaced a document that I really needed to keep. I just want to know if
there is a way that I can retrieve the previous version of the document
before I made the changes. I would really appreciate any feedback available.

If the document is still open you should be able to use Undo to go as far
back as necessary, even though you have saved. Once the doc is closed,
however, there is no longer any Undo capability.

An addition to what Cyber Taz had to say - the only other way you could
retrieve your document is if you had a prior day tape back-up.

Thank you very much for your reply. I did close the docuement, but I will
try to see if there is a backup tape.
