Comcast reports this is a MS Office issue: How do I resolve-

Comcast, from personal experience, are idiots.

The message simply means that your email is not being sent through the
Comcast mail server. Are you logged on to Comcast? Are you using their
servers to send/receive mail? Are you trying to send through their servers
while logged onto another ISP account?

Try testing your account settings to see what the exact error is - more than
likely, you need to set up your authentication according to the instructions
on Comcast[s web site under Help.

I followed many of the suggestions in the article you pointed me to.... and
nothing seemed to fix it. Oddly, I have another ISP - naples.net - and that
dial up account is working just fine with send and receive using dial up.
Additionally I receive e-mail at my naples.net account ...yours for instance
through my Comcast high speed service.

After going through a long tussle with Comcast Tech Support and changing my
port settings from 25 to 587 at their request I have a new error message

" Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Unable to send the message. "

Got any thoughts about that?

Sorry to hitchhike on this thread but the group for some reason won't allow
me to start a new thread.

I,too, have a send/receive error I can't figure out. I'm receiving this:

Unknown Error 0x8004060C

It occurred when we tried to send an email with attached photos. This is
something we do all of the time, and to the same address.

Now we are not able to download incoming emails from our server, Comcast,
and I'm not able to delete the original email from the outbox or the test
email I've tried to send.

The test email was received on the other end, but the outbox still retains
the originals as though they were never sent.

Can you help me on this please?
